Hmmm...my theory is (i used to be the same so i have some basis at least...) they are only interested in drawing what they want to draw ie. their OC's with whoever. Not a lot of them are going to simply draw for practice and some might see critique as a personal attack, so get defensive...

Most modern summoners in FFX have bows on their robes in some form. now, all these bow in their various shape and forms are worn on the summonser back.
Now, geisha's also wear their obi's tied with the bow on the back. BUT....japanese oiran (prostitutes) wore there bows on the front of their kimono's to distiguish themselves from geisha. so, geisha were classy entertianers - Oiran were just prostitutes.
nooow...who wears his bow on the front of his robes?? Seymour. thats who.
BUT, i dont think this is meant to symbolize the fact he is a prozzie, but rather to illustrate his rebelious streak. I mean cmoon, he bears his flesh in a very low scooping robe, has tattoo's and generally is a rebel Maester (even before you find out he's bonkers) and the bow thing just tops it off.
