Twink is my sweet loving pet, rainbow monster, created within the world of my Dimension Channel, by my magical mishaps. Some people would think he's a cruel heartless beast, who deserves no love or a chance of making himself a life long compaion. But people you are wrong, he has a home with me forever, just like my two loving rats Q and Discord, whom are soon to be gaining two new sisters in our little rat pack!Sadly though people, there are plenty of other pets out there, that are treated horrible like some would treat Twink. Some people think animals are nothing but mindless beasts who don't serve a purpose in life then to do our bidding. Animals do have feelings though and they DO deserve our love and respect. Not be be sold like they were objects or merchandise. Millions are animals are without homes or abaonded every year...and those that are lucky end up in shelters...and those that are unlucky...end up in shelters till the shelter has no choice but to end their existence, simply because they couldn't find a home...
This can all be avoided, by doing the following:
1. Do NOT buy pets at the pet store!
2. Look up animals in your local adoption agencies!
3. Research to make sure of the pet you want and know you can handle!
Save a life people...adopt instead!

i had this discussion recently with a friend, i want to look for another dog (my first passed away two years ago) she said to look for a pure breed i said i would go to the shelter where i got my first dog too

we got my fuzzy friend at a cat shelter after some one ran over his back legs with a car. He is walking on all fours and happy now!

I've never had any pet rats, but the pets I have had have largely been strays that showed up at my house that my family has taken in, or pets from other households who could no longer provide for them.

I only use pet stores to buy hamsters... Or gerbils... I only have a hamster that I got from my cousin and three cats that I adopted. Actually one is the mother of a litter I took care of but kept only one kitten. The other I adopted from another cousin.

Is that creature one you just made up or is it actually something in the show or from a story I've never heard of? Honestly, this is something I kinda don't dig, like the whole choice people make to be an alicorn, or to try to make them self look special or stick out by completely making something up, like mixing a pony with something else. Unless it's a thing in mythology or you can say it's inspired by something from a story. Really the best way to stick out is certain clothing, like maybe take inspiration from real life even, like I did when I drew the Malkavian Equestrian, dressing him in a sorta horse blanket apparently horse owns strap onto their horses (thinkin' to change his colors though). Anyways, got off rambling about the fact I don't dig this as a thing, which other people seem to or they're just trying to be nice. I dig what you're doin' but honestly, why not a baby seal that was dyed in rainbow colors, inspired by the point in history when the French were abusing animals for fashion again. You know about that right? The French would go and club baby seals to death so they could get their fur, not even use the meat; and then one day, this group of people decided they were going to save the baby seals by ruining their fur, by dying their fur green with an environmentally safe dye. I mean nothing says "defenseless" like a little baby seal. No offence by the way.

This is yes a new character into my LB Show series, he goes by the name "Twink" which if research is done, the name "Twink" was the name of Rainbow Bright's sidekick (Rainbow Bright is one of my favorite cartoons next to MLP so a lot of my theme is based off that show). Twink is meant to be my own pet, guard dog and side kick in my series. I chose this style because it was simple, cute and scary (to myself), and I love a good pet that can really "Bark" loudly to make others think twice. A rainbow seal isn't exactly scary, cute yes but not scary, and never was my style, how would a seal keep out those pesky reviewers who keep calling me cute all the time? (For the record yes I know all about the sad situations with seals and the cruelty they go through just for... fashion, but Lightning Bliss isn't about fashion, therego why would she have a pet that is? I advertise animal abuse awareness through mainly my pet rats. "Rat Cam" in real life, but I appreciate others sharing info like this too. If Blissy has any fashion sense it's through her steam punk goggles that she constantly wears on her head)
Twink will be around to keep me on my toes with my reviews, or to keep pesky Rift Cafe members out of my dimension who keep calling me cute too much. He's also here to make a cute scene, and for bringing comedy here and there. Plus just to be clear, I made him for my own benefit and entertainment.
As for your... passive statement of why some people choose to have an alicorn OC to "stick out", is not the case with me at all. I have an alicorn OC because of personal reasons, and for fun, not at first thinking people would make such a big deal with it... In fact my OC was a pegasus first before I decided to make that rather... scary decision, of make her an alicorn. Considering how 'hateful' or 'aggressive' this fandom can be towards Alicorn OCs, it was a rather difficult decision for me, because I don't like drama, or people judging me when they don't even know what I'm about and on a personal level hehe. Which is why I went through several months of effort to create her backstory, that I use for RPs. I have created another backstory to fit with the Rift Cafe community, though sadly I felt it be best to keep it hidden since it may seem a little more crazy then normal and because some friends I have felt it wasn't neccissary and conflicted.
