WHAT? Adam West's Batman wasnt stupid. He was a genius. It was 1966. The show was based off of the comic books of the era.

I know most of the stories were based on the 1950s comic books as I do have reprints of them, and the tone of the stories were similar to the show. Thing is they made the show a comedy, and Batman wasn't such a clown in those comic books of the era. 

Back in 1966 I was still a baby, I grew up watching the show in reruns in the 70s., and I did like it. It wasn't until I was grown up that you realize the foolishness of it and the stigmata it put on the actors and the general public perception of comic books and superheroes.

You'd be happy to know the show will finally be released on DVD later this year. And I might buy it!
