I think that Blender v2.5 will become easier to use. We will see.
Release is October I think.

yeah I don't know it too. The Elevator scene looks not so real at the moment.
But I think the lightning is a important factor.

Well Blender is really tricky and the GUI is not so user-friendly for beginners. I think I only know ~10-15% of the functions. But if you practice every day you will became a pro like this guys [link]
