Description An awesomely horrific joined picture of the two sides of a folio I made in the gothic style last year! The text descriptions and names for the animals are directly taken from medieval bestiaries (sort of like an encyclopedia of animals), and the illustrations are mine.

I used an imitation vellum for the paper and calligraphy inks for the illustrations and text. The project was really fun but also extremely tedious. I don't know how scribes created whole codices like this, but I adore the descriptions they had for animals back then! Silly medieval folk.
