I have a feeling the Blue Blur is getting lonely.All these games where he's the only one that takes action.
He needs to fight alongside someone to laugh at his jokes.
It would save him filling the silence with his smartass attitude and stop him making a fool of himself.
and stop him talking to dead robots that can't hear him.

Not a fire monster, a demon, a god or a monstrous looking robot. NO, a stupid, idiotic ferris wheel.
I can't stand Sonic since Colors for uncountable reasons, but one of the main reasons is this bragging about the stupidest and imbecillic achievements like he's God. Without actually DOING something awesome to prove it. Just "Blah blah blah I'm awesome because Baldy McNosehair sucks and I'm smack talking to mute robots"
And no, if this is supposed to be funny, it's not. It's goddamn annoying and make me dislike and hate the main character instead of sympathize with him.
I really can't stand Sonic anymore since Colors. He's no longer a character with layers and empathy, he's just a stupid self-absorbed bully. Same for Tails, especially in Lost World.

Sonic's a cocky character always has been, so therefore I can easily understand if he'll start bragging ( even if it's just defeating another Robot/Monster)

A bully?, you mean to Robots that are programmed to hurt him?. He's no bully, A bully is somweone who is mean to others for no good reason. And after everything Eggman has done over the years, Sonic has every right to talk to him that way, a lot of other protagonists do it.
Tails was characterised poorly in LW, not so much in Colours. Sonic has been characterised poorly in a LOT of Sonic games, not just this one.

Then why do you like him in the first place ? If you like the games being boring and the characters are aware of it, what kind of entertainment you can find from them ? You like when the games that are supposed to be for kids, full of imagination and dreams, stomps their own universe just because "they do it every time" and for the sake of cheap laughs ? You believe it's better having the characters behaving like they know they're in a boring sitcom and acting like they're bored colleagues in their office during their everyday shitty job ?
That is everyday life, something that I want to evade when I play videogames. Why should I have to sit through more of it while I'm playing ?

If you talk about '06, I agree with you in that case. Sonic was terrible in '06. In Heroes....meh.Β
But the Storybooks (despite the shit gameplay) had perhaps the best storytelling and portrayal of Sonic I've seen since the Adventure games, where he was awesome too.

And yes he's a bully since HE IS the first one talking. In a good story telling scenario, the villain or his minions triggers the heroes to smack talk to him/them, not the contrary. If the "hero" is the first one insulting and ridiculizing the villain, then he's the bully. The villain being turned from a evil mastermind to a incompetent clown doesn't help, though.

Yes, we know that Eggman did what he did in the past. But if this is a new story we're seeing, and new-comers are being introduced to it, we need to see the villain actually doing something evil. And counting capsules while bickering with your dim-witted minions is not a good start. Plus all of this is connected to what I said earlier about the bully issue. Could you name those other protagonists who do so, please ?

I'm relieved by the fact you admit that SLW Tails is a bad portrayal (although it's an understatement). Problem is, SLW is a continuation and "development" (more like de-volution) of his portrayal in Colors : cynical, passive aggressive, out-of-character sarcasm and bragging and this ridiculous bro-behaviour. We went from the useless nerd from Heroes to Unleashed, to this little nasty brat that behaves like Sonic and Eggman.
What happened to the humble little boy genius in search of recognition in SA, SA2 and even Sonic X ?

Of course he was and unfortunately still is : '06, Heroes (sort of), Generations, Lost World and Boom.
I suggest you to look up for two things : 1) search for Ken Pontac and Warren Graff, the "writers" since Colors. I could link you an interview if you wish.
2) Take a look around my favorites gallery. I saw you are an enthusiast of post Colors games, Colors and Boom especially. I'm not accusing you of anything, mind you ! But I would like to show you what, in my opinion and of many others, what isn't working in Sonic since Colors.

Except this isn't the only instance of it happening. As a matter of fact, some fans call Sonic: Asshole The Hedgehog. Simply because he tends to be one from time to time, especially during certain parts in SA1 and the OVA movie. Granted, I do like a "nice" protagonist, but I have no problem with Sonic's inconsistent personality (which is how I would best describe him).
I've been a fan of Sonic since the age of three, there is more to Sonic than just his feats and accomplishments. I like the universe he's a part of, his attitude, the drive to stomp out evil in the funnest way possible. Y'know, stuff like that.
It's more appealing for a Sonic game to have an upbeat Story such as this one. Colours is far from perfect for me, but it's a step up from what I had to deal with in other titles. I'm either totally bored, or just absolutely disgusted from what I see. Unless of course I play something like Unleashed, or the Rush games. But, then we have game like 06 where Sonic is like a puppet with no personality.
Taking into account how ridiculous and "childish" badniks have looked, and some of Sonic's most recurring enemies are, I'd say this is somewhat of a throwback of some sort. True, but there are protagonists out there who are actually the ones to insult first, even Sonic himself (in OVA, in which Sonic wanted no part of it, and merely told Eggman to do it himself)
Storybook Sonic was average. Sometimes he's boring, and sometimes he's something you'd get out of a usual rolemodel. I personally think the Rush games has the best portrayal of Sonic.
This game pretty much treats this whole ordeal as just another thing for the two. And seeing as Eggman is only the recurring nemesis for Sonic to face I can kind of see why. It's just another day of work.
I don't agree with that. Tails has corrected Sonic before on what's going on, if anything he made him look like an absolute fool in Colours. I can actually tell the two are brothers here, something that hasn't been seen for a long time, something I loathe.
Lost World was just fail for Tails fans. That is all, just no.

1. I've already seen that. Weird for Sega to not inform the two of the universe of Sonic.
2.Wrong, I'm an All-Rounder for the Sonic series. I started with the Classic games, but I don't mind the Modern games either. Granted some make me want to bury the game for being terrible, but I can tell you I absolutely hated the Dark age of Sonic for just about everything.
If it isn't the shit gameplay, the overabundance of rock music, the poor characterisations of Classic characters, or the forgettable storylines, these things made me completely uninterested in the franchise (thankfully I have franchise's I like just as uch as Sonic himself).
Colours was introduced to me via a birthday present, and I was like "I'm playing a Modern Sonic game, and I'm actually having fun!"
And while it being the Plot wasn't the best I had seen, it was a HUGE stepup for an entertaining Story. Cringeworthy at times?, absolutely. Entertaining at the right moments?, definitely.
