Description
Finally, I have completed a Star Vs. The Forces of Evil-inspired fanart of the Corrupted couple Ryuga and Varuna. I actually drew the sketch a few months ago and started to draw the digital version a few days ago. I don't know why, but I actually like SVTFoE and I already loved how Eclipsa looked and her voice, giving her a graceful, knowledgeable, and beautiful but dangerous vibe with a hint of classy-ness in her design. Over time, I grew to adore Eclipsa and it was an interesting time because I'm in my Beyblade interests again, therefore making this. Because of how creepy Corrupted Ryuga looks and looked at Globgor, Eclipsa's monster husband, then looked at Varuna and Eclipsa, I decided to play around with the idea of them cosplaying as the two TV show characters.
But in sketching this, it birthed a strange AU of a world where Ryuga won Battle Bladers and where Varuna survived her attack by L-Drago prior to the final battle. Except it also birthed different versions of the AU, where there is a weird "master and pet" dynamic that resulted from Varuna being used as a "pet" or "punching bag" of Ryuga or she is used as "pet" as a result of abuse and physical control, then may or may not be a "toy" channeler of L-Drago's power, which would explain the Parasol. In the first version, more logically, Varuna may not have lived long. But in the second version, Varuna she would have lived, but would be mentally aware of what is happening but L-Drago was so strong that it is able to control how she moves and behaves against her will.
Honestly, how I established what their relationship is weird because it is uncertain if Varuna's actions are genuine or not anymore and some depictions may show Varuna as the "master role" instead of Ryuga. But it's all a game.
I imagined the background to look more destroyed with demolished buildings and structures, but because of my awareness of my limits of detail and because of the limited space of the background, I decided to do a limited background based on the one in the portrait.
