I think this might actually look better without any shading at all. Or rather, I guess it's about what sort of effect you're going for. With the shading as it is, it gives the vector a paperchild feeling: like it's a 2D cut-out with a bowl held in front of it. Not sure if I'm even explaining myself, but the little shading there is doesn't help give the vector/drawing any depth.
That's not a bad effect, of course, and like I said, it all depends on what sort of effect you were going for.

Probably the vector size, but that really isn't that large. I've seen 10k x 10k vectors. THAT'S insane.

This vector could be whatever size you want it to be it could even be 500,000 by 500,000 (It would just take a bit to export!) Always do at least 6,000 by 6,000 or so. A couple of mine are over 10,000 by 10,000 I think!
