I've never deactivated a account before. I only deactivate Tumblr because its a piece of cr*p.

Same here and I had a few people overusing this feature and EVEN leaves because they are like 'WAAAHH!! I CANNOT TAKE THIS MORE AND SO AM LEAVING!!', Dude I fucking hate this when this happened and I even dropped out with one certain user. If DA can set the the limitation after you re-blocked the user and can't block him/her again for a few days. How about a limit on this? I'd consider as quitters much like Rage Quitters in video games.

Agreed. I've even seen a deviantART member I somewhat knew would(and still does) constantly abuse the function like the Deactivation Button is a "video game" to him. It got annoying to see him deactivate, reactivate, deactivate, reactivate - repetitively nonstop. Either deactivate already or don't; I'm not really surprised that there's no "suspension" for abusing the button nonstop even when starting arguments and uses it as an "escape function" only to come back later. Then again, a suspension is probably too harsh of a word really since it's his account, therefore his rights.
However, it would be nice if deviantART could perhaps set a limit to Deactivations per year or for the account itself have limited Deactivation presses so we can stop having the attention-seeking deactivation "threat" journals like "BAWWWW!!1!!!11!2! IM LEAVING" up to "I'M BACK! LUV U ALL <3 kthnxbai".
Which reminds me, I still can't understand why some people who actually enjoy deviantART deactivate when life is kicking them in the butt, I'm not mad but when I +watch a person, become friends with them and like their artworks I get worried and hope for their return, while instead they could have just left a temporal journal saying they wouldn't be online for awhile, it would be less stressful to a person's watchers. I mean, it's not like an average user(as far as I see) is obligated or forced to be on this website 24/7, 365 or every single day of the rest of their lives(or until the day dA doesn't exist, if that ever happens or not) so I don't see much point in deactivating for that when a simple hiatus journal could be made so that they can focus on attending to their own lives more and so their watchers wouldn't have to worry.

i used to know a guy who kept leaving accounts and then returning. it got to the point where he just left all together. still i got a feeling he'llsomeday pop up again and rewatch me for the 6th time...
but really i dont see the point in moving accounts or deactivating em. its not awesome. and why do their pics remain in your favs if they're deactivated or banned?! i never got that
