I've been considering getting DeviantArt CORE so that I can upload straight videos instead of GIFs, but I don't really know if I want to pay the money for it. Maybe if I start taking more commissions I'll consider it.

Story:

Lyn was inspecting a strange machine that had appeared one day. As far as she could tell, it was round, and about big enough for a person to fit inside. Other than that, she had no idea what it did. She was about to go ask someone, when suddenly, Lucina came up behind her and kicked her into the machine!

Lyn barely had a moment to react before her friend swiftly slammed shut the door to the machine, locking her inside. “Lucina! Let me out of here! What is this?” Lyn shouted as she pounded on the door, but to no avail. She felt a jolt as the machine whirred to life, rising into the air. She supposed she was about to find out exactly what this strange machine did.

Lyn felt the space she occupied start to grow a bit cramped. It was compressing! But unlike the numerous other times Lyn had been shrunken, this time she didn’t shrink herself. Which was beginning to be a bit of a problem, as she was quickly running out of room in there.

But as soon as Lyn was pressed up against the walls of the machine as much as she thought she could be, she felt her body start to change. She felt parts of herself being pressed in, now flush with the spherical walls of the machine. As it shrank smaller and smaller, Lyn became more and more ball-like. Once the pressure on her body was so great she was sure it could go no further, the machine stopped.

Lyn could feel the walls pull away from her body as it grew, but she still seemed to retain her round shape. With a sudden popping noise, the door of the machine blasted open as she was launched out at a high velocity. She felt warm hands stop her flight, as she looked straight into the face of Lucina, who had apparently caught her as she was fired out of the machine.

“Oh good, my machine works.” Lucina said, now holding her friend in her hands. Even since Robin had accidentally transformed her into a ball a few months ago, Lucina sought to replicate the experience. She had to admit that she quite enjoyed it, after she got used to it. So with the help of Robin, and a couple of her other friends, she had assembled a machine that could transform people into balls, and back again. That second part was a nice addition to have, as it ensured Lucina wouldn’t be stuck for a month like before, every time she used the machine.

“Lucina… What did y- uh…” Lyn was interrupted as Lucina pressed down on top of her, hard. She was already feeling tight from the machine turning her into a ball, but now she felt even more pressure on her body. It wasn’t exactly an unpleasant experience, but certainly a strange one. Then Lucina released her grip, and Lyn felt all that pressure released at once. It was an amazing feeling. Lucina shifted her grip before pressing in on Lyn twice more, on her sides this time, and twice more Lyn happily experienced what it was like to be squashed and released.

“Well, everything seems to be in working order. Let us test the restore feature.” Lyn felt Lucina grip her in a single hand before she was flung back into the machine. She bounced around on the inside as she felt the door close behind her, and everything started spinning. She felt her body expanding back to what it once was, as if she was being pulled in all directions at once.

The machine then suddenly pitched forward as it opened its door, unceremoniously dumping Lyn on the ground in front of Lucina. Lyn looked up at her friend, before a feeling of dizziness overtook her, and she collapsed on the ground. “Hmm, well it seems to work fine.” Lucina remarked as she looked upon Lyn, restored to her usual state. “I should probably get her back to camp so the clerics can examine her and make sure she’s alright.”

She looked down at Lyn’s body on the ground again and considered how she would move her though, before a mischievous smirk came over her face. “Although… she’d be much easier to carry if she were smaller and rounder…”

The clerics confirmed that Lyn was perfectly fine and the machine was safe to use, although they were very confused to find their lord looking a little spherical when she arrived.

Notes:

Yes, the story makes no sense. At first, Lucina was going to have ordered the machine from Amazon, but I felt that was a bit too far.

The animation itself in this is nice though. I love the motion the “machine” makes when it fires and catches Lyn. It’s got a nice sense of momentum to it.

At first Lyn wasn’t going to get restored in the animation. She was going to be much larger as well, around beach ball size as opposed to dodgeball sized, but then I thought she would look cute if I shrank her down a bit. Then I realized that she fit quite nicely in Lucina’s hand, and that a throwing motion would look really cool.

I also absolutely love how she just flops onto the ground after she comes out of the machine. One of my favorite actions I’ve ever animated.
