Six months after the Cleaving, Darkseid and his new allies Emperor Belos, Lord Darkar, Valtor & Toffee unleashed their armies on the powerless Mewmans. In direct response, John Constantine arrived to help the Butterfly family along with a few other magic users from across the multiverse. After the heroes were forced to restore Mewni's magic to drive the deadly alliance out of Earth-118, Constantine believed that only they could help keep magic in check and chose Star to be his second in command since he believed neither Moon, the newly resurrected old Magic High Commission or even Eclipsa can be trusted. Though they started small with the magicians, witches, fairies & chaos spirits (Doctor Strange, Zatanna, Bloom, Discord, Lena, Erza, Aqua, Eda & Lilith) that answered John's cry for help, their numbers began to grow over time.
