Description OK so here's a redone version of my previously done map: [link]

I felt a revamp was needed since I wanted to do something original and NOT based off of the real world, however the nations themselves do have language and origins similar to the real world's origins. So here they are:
Crimsonia -> American
Verdobas -> French and English
Solvnette -> Spanish
Aranco -> Italian and Spanish
Laxroz -> ???
Azuras -> Turkish and Russian
Amirtia -> ???
Safronas -> Japanese and Indian

So Laxroz and Amirtia are true mysteries. Anyone with at least some knowledge of the Latin (or Greek, don't tell me otherwise, I'm not a scholar) Alphabet would know where the names of the Amirtian provinces came from, but they're not Greek/Latin.

As for the numbers with corresponding Xs on the map, they are significant locations and here they are:
1. Albany, Nortenburt; Where Liko, Niko, Samo, and Mica are.
2. Greenfield, Nortenburt; Liko's birthplace
3. Halfmoon, Bojobor; Location of Trinity-cubed
4. Silverstone Valley, Oaki; Location of Threo West
5. Manchester, Bryon; Where Hank is located.
6. Kalengrad, Nort; Where Vivian is located
7. ???, Darkmoon Island; The headquarters of The Black Penumbra Terrorist group.

I have had this map in the works for a while. Absolutely nothing of this map corresponds to the real world I tried my damn best to make sure of that. Language may correspond, but not location.

Anyway, try your hand at pronouncing some of these locations.

It's awesome and well thought out, but methinks it would be even better if there were some states/whatevers were named after actual places since it IS the future.

I changed that; now it's an entirely different world so I won't have any conflicts with brands, evolution, and stuff.

"Long ago, the 4 nations lived in harmony"....... no, there's more than 4 nations. Couldn't resist, the layout kinda looks like the 4 nations on avatar.

Double bonus, green is my fav colour AND living with the French means I get the benifits of their cakes...... Mmmmm cake.... This map is much improved from the last one, but I can't help noticing the lack of a north and south pole.

I may end up moving Darkmoon Island north a bit so it's on the north pole.

For the Amirtia place, how about Polynesian? You know, like Hawaii, the Phillipines...

Islander language, like Hawaiian? Perhaps.

Laxroz will still remain a total mystery however.

Sure. And for the other one, you could go with African?

Possibly, this is still in development.

The map seems odd to me right now because it doesn't seem natural. Continents should look like they divided up, islands should follow fault lines, it's these kind of things I try to consider when designing a world. Even if your world didn't change over millenia like ours (is believed to have) did, it looks nicer usually.

Creating world maps are fun though! :3

"Kah-len-grau-d"? :o How exotic.

I see what you mean, I guess I should've made a craggy blob, then cut it out from there. Well, you can see some rough fault lines anyhow. I see how Mahan and Nuatua split from the rest of Aranco. Also how some of the nations split apart. But yeah, some of the lands do appear a bit spltted on.

Maybe the beginning was different. Rather than fault lines, the planet started off as a ball of water and the lands were formed from asteroids hitting it and piling up to create the lands. For all I know, the physics and geology could be entirely opposite to our world.

That's why I said it may have not occoured that way, but sometimes it looks better. *shrug* Maybe because I get used to seeing things like that.

hahaha, nice color naming with the countries here

I've made a few languages (or at least a few words in made up languages) before, and I always base them off some real-world ones...

also...what..."Toothpaste?!" XDD

Yeah, that was my intention, the only exception I guess is Laxroz and Amirtia.

The Laxroz language will be an interesting one to develop. It's heavily dependent upon Xs and Zs

Toothpaste, I wanted to throw in something to be random, but I figure it'd be pronounced Tooth-poss-tay
