This is one of their first conversations about the fact that the core cannot stay activated without the unity of its parts, and also without binding it to the motivator**.
She tries to lead her interlocutor to the idea that he is a hypochondriac. This conversation started because all the lion's talks (about the need to look for some kind of "magical trinkets of over-importance") tired her. Though, we know that something strange happened to his Core for real.

The conversation will not bear fruits in the end (except for the general "the lore of the Core" presentation) because they cannot prove their position to each other. Callie cannot dissect the lion’s head to see his true state after all. It would be pretty impolite.

Although, they are both right. And they could have found harmony as well. But they haven't the necessary facts about the general situation.

‣ The Motivator is the OU replacement of a heart but with fewer major changes.
