Cuz I doubt she'd keep the JLU outfit all that long but not really sure what she'd trade it for... probably something way cooler than my lame design though
I know she dropped the whole Hawkgirl thing after Starcrossed, but in my ficverse she's still with the League fighting alongside Warhawk who did take up the Hawk mantle, so was kinda thinking even if she's not Hawkgirl anymore, maybe have the bird of prey thingy to keep the theme going with her little sidekick LOL...
Kept the colors cuz she seems to like them... shoulder thing I kinda got inspired from the older comics design where Hawkgirl wears the yellow tank top with straps... also did that and the full torso design cuz I didn't want it to look too similar to Nightwing's bird design and also didn't wanna split the top design from the belt so it won't look too Bumblebee LOL... also kinda inspired by Spider-Man's costume design cuz... we like the Spidey LOL
The ponytail... well that started when she had kids cuz GRABBY HANDS

I like the black/yellow combo better than her first outfit, looked kinda mismatched and poorly color-coordinated (which is what lil' Rex is referring to in my YJ profile of him LOL)... downside of the black/yellow though is how hard it is to redesign without making her look like a Bumblebee 
And the ponytail's practical, trust me

As for the design. I feel ya! XD I've tried redesigning her uniform, but the comics always have her in a funky color set. :/ I've never quite understood the yellow, green, red, gold, black combo. But YES to the ponytail!!!

And yeah poor Hawkgirl. Both her costumes look kinda random. Like how all the other League members have their symbols/brands on theirs etc, and Hawkgirl's first costume looked like some random stuff she found at the curb after a yard sale and threw together then added the Hawkmask as a saving grace LOL. (Like I should talk, I have the worst fashion sense
