There are probably a couple bookstores and little libraries in the Atrium, but the largest and more scholarly-oriented library probably resides in the Belt.

Is there a staircase that connects the modules as well, in case of lift failure? (I assume that would be obstructed after the incident)

Yep! The staircase wraps around the elevator tube. Thanks for bringing that up! The elevator just flat isn't working after the incident.
