Description
This painting reminds me of some crazy feathers that are engulfed by fire. Even though the fire burns the color shine brilliantly. The process of going through the "fire" in your lives in necessary to seeing how brilliant your true colors really are!18x20 Canvas over a handmade stretcher

this is a wonderful piece---you can feel it---it's alive. I really like the flame and its composition in the back---and your absolutely right about the "fires" in our lives---it's also a character building and refinement process---tested by the fires.
Love the intertwining of colors---and I agree also with the feather like appearance---real nice

Brilliant! [In more than one way...] I like how it draws the eye along the feather's spine while keeping my mind unable to discern where one color ends and another begins...

I love this painting! Just a random question from a amatuer painter, I'm planning on using acrylics, I've never dealt with acrylic paint before, I'm so used to oil, it looks as if you did this picure in layers, did you? did you use one color wash in the background, and did you take it from there?

I did do this painting in layers I always start out with a neutral color with alot of water. I lightly waterpaint the shapes and large areas just to get an idea of where things are gonna go. Then I take the color that will be most prominant and cover large areas first. I usually fill my pallette with "cool" colors or "warm" colors(because they dry so fast) You can add all you want of blues greens purples aquas etc... and let it dry about an hour (or less time with a blowdryer
) Then I start layering my warm colors, reds, pinks, yellows, oranges n stuff. Then I stick it on the wall where I have to look at it (usually by TV) And ya figure out what touch ups or more colors you want
I dont know that's how I do it. It usually takes about 3-4 hours to paint
. I hope that helps you at all
I don't know how to oil paint so I'll ask ya about any problems I run into I'm trying them out!
