...Man...I was in a bad mood last night. This was supposed to be a really grrrr picture...with...clothing...but somehow it turned into some fangirlish junk...XDOh well...if you don't like fangirlish junk you don't have to comment.
I had this long rant that was going to go along with it...but I'll try to shorten it because I don't like rants...but I'm not good at shortening stories...so ya...
So...lately I've been getting more annoyed with DA. Not the site...but I guess some of the comments. I don't mean the flamers so much. I mean...I don't like flamers...but that's not really what I'm annoyed with.
I mean...regular commenters sometimes drive me nuts.
I know I'm not the only ones because I see mini-rants all over a bunch of artists comments.
It's like this...
I spend hours on a piece of artwork to share it with my friends..maybe I'm even proud of it because of the work I put into it....but instead of getting a comment on the artwork....all I get is an argument about the notes...or a comment about a misproportion that I already knew about...and either didn't see till it was on the computer or didn't know how to fix.
...why would I want to see...or answer those.
But I can't help it...especially the arguments... I'll argue forever...but it ends up driving me nuts...especially when people don't really listen.
I guess basically...just...if you don't have anything nice to say up about a deviation...why are you commenting?
I don't expect nice comments from everyone on everything. If you don't like something I post...just don't comment on it.
I only comment on deviations that I like and that I have nice comments for.
Why would I comment just to tell someone that I don't like their ship or that their pose is wrong. That's all rude and completely unhelpful.
Helpful critique is great. If you have actual suggestions for improvement...that's awesome.
Okay...sorry...I think I'm done...
Instead of arguing, when something annoys me..I'm just going to hide it and ignore it. So if you find your comment to me hidden...that means it annoys me and I don't want to talk about it.
BTW, this is directed at a VERY few people and I love most of my friends and really enjoy talking with you....and I'm going to try not to let a few people stop me from wanting to post stuff here.
Zuko doesn't belong to me....because I sold the rights to Mike and Bryan....

first off:
Zuko.... awesomeness. your drawings are really so great. I love the simple color schemes you do but your lines are just SO good!! and this Zuko is perfect. You got the subtlety of his new haircut perfectly. its more bouncy then season two zuko. more on top and less around the neck. you just know how to draw him. and you can absolutely draw shirtless guys. (does that sound right? XD ) you know what I mean!!

I know!! If I came across something I don't like or think is funny I don't waste MORE time posting something... although saying something like, GIVE ME BACK THE FIVE NANO-SECONDS IT TOOK TO DOWNLOAD THIS STOOPID PIC YOU PERSON YOU!!! 
The kinds of people that waste time flaming other peoples work are usually the ones who don't have any of their own, or have REALLY bad pics to begin with!!
Maybe if they spent less time cutting down others, and more time on their own skills they would be less likely to do that!

And the Second Thing.. those people are so annoying XO I got someone like that the other day that got me grrring XD gosh that is like the perfect emote for these sorts of situations.
Gotta say.. the funniest part of people who like to give *coughs* advice on your artwork and where you went wrong is when you look at thier gallery and see that they are certainly no expert themselves. Makes you wonder why they don't apply their advice to themselves first XO

I've noticed that, too. Most of them don't even give advice...they point out anything they can see 'wrong' with it.
I think the people who comment just to argue with me annoy me more, though. I can argue forever. XD I think that's why I don't ship seriously. I would argue ships forever.

If you like, in your artist comments, you can specify that you're not looking for any critique. That could help minimize any of those comments. :3

I don't mind the critique. It's usually the comments that have nothing to do with the picture that bother me. Not the chat with my friends...but usually people who just comment to argue with the comment I posted. That drives me crazy.

Oh, yeah, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I know you saw my rant on Business Meeting... I've had lots of comments like that before, but when several people were all like, "Aang wouldn't wear that," I just went over the edge. Maybe some of us need to make some art that shows how we feel >3

I know...you aren't the only one. I've seen several artists ranting like that in the last few weeks/months...a while. Yes...I really needed a grrrr pic...and maybe some more emotional ones. I've been looking up stock artists...I'm thinking about working on painting some digital realism...I'm better at realism anyway.
Does it seem like the more watchers and views you get, the less friendly and personal your gallery an notes become?
I had someone on my profile page seriously ask me if my gallery was a club and if they could join.
I used to get annoyed with those really popular artists who seemed to ignore their comments and stuff....but I didn't realize just how many comments and favs and stuff you could get. What do you do when your gallery actually reaches the point where you literally can't answer your messages? I'm kinda hoping that never happens to mine.
