The fight is getting heated on the hands of the clock tower. I do my best to protect Basil, but he always gets in the way by protecting me instead.I tried to stand in front of a wounded Basil, my arms spread out, trying to shield him from Ratigan's fury. Not caring who he struck, the monster swiped down at me with his deadly claws. In the nick of time, Basil grabbed me and swung us around so he was the one to take the hit.
Basil: *bites back his scream as his back is shredded*
Me: *crying* BASIL! Stop it! You don't have to prove yourself to me anymore! Stop trying to be a hero!
Basil: *grunts and falls to his knees, carrying me down with him*
Me: I don't want you to die! *clutches him tightly*
Basil: Anna... I'm not trying to prove anything. *Looks down at me with a pained smile* I'm just protecting what matters most to me.
Me: *tears streaming down my face* Basil...please!
Ratigan: *laughs maniacally* Go ahead, great detective! Protect her all you want! I wonder how long either of you will last!

Basil and Ratigan belong to Disney's "The Great Mouse Detective."
Just more ideas for my fanfiction, "Silver and Gold."
There's no blood or anything, so I don't think this needs a Mature rating. The violence is no grander than the one in the movie.

I don't have anything against the Black Cauldron. I do enjoy it for what it is. It does have major flaws though.
Yeah, Don Bluth is one of the main reasons why Disney tried to go dark...because everyone was praising him for it.

I will agree with that, but I still enjoy it for at least trying to send Disney in a darker direction.
His films show that animated features can be appropriate for kids and still contain darker tones. I still get goosebumps when I see that spider following Mrs. Brisby in Secret of NIMH.

*turns around quick, but gets punched in the face by the rat's tail, knocked to the ground next to you* Ugh... That hurts!..But at least he didn't break my jaw or I'd be toothless. *then notice Ratigan staring at us, even more angry than before* Uh oh.... *then sees the rat's tail coming right us. I quickly jump in front of you & Basil, prepared to take the hit* Heads down!
*the rat's tail wraps around my wrist and pulls me away from you with strong force, then holds me over the edge* *I looked down scared* AH! *turns toward Ratigan, only to see him grinning evilly at me, then he lifts me up like he's ready to drop me to my doom*
