Yes, I did draw the background this time. xP Decided that I should stop putting off practicing it.Shade is talking about his colony and how awesome it is.
Marina is of course, hyped to be accepted by Shade's colony.
Melody is meanwhile missing her own home in Florida. I had her be on top of the branch instead of hanging off it as a way to show that she is still in fact, a human.

GORGEOUS PICTURE!!! 
I love the lines of Shade's left wing's fingers, the bumpy design of his hands, the way you've drawn the front and back of his hair. And the way his face looks somewhat over-optimistic - like he's too thrilled with what he's talking about - by the wide eye with the tiny iris, and the high eyebrow.
Melody's loneliness is heightened by Shade and Marina being on the underside, both looking at the distance, and no-one being on the top of the branch with her. Also, I spotted the way Melody resting on her side atop the branch like a human in a tree, hints she's actually a human. It contrasts WONDERFULLY with Shade and Marina roosting like bats.
I'd also like to say your background is really well-drawn and coloured - the browns and purples and green sky are gorgeous, and the non-line crooked trees and pine-spiked mountain silhouettes are very cartoon-evocative - particularly making me think of 'Silverwing' specifically!!!

I make a lot of layers for practically everything. There's the layer for the sketch. There's a layer for the lineart. There's a layer for the coloring. There's a layer for each character. It helps with the organization and keeping everything in order so if something needs to be redone or adjusted, it won't effect everything else.

Haha~ Yeah. At least Melody, Shade and Marina are equipped with thick warm fur that is made for the northern climate. Goth and Throbb...not so much. xD

Good, VERY GOOD! You're on the right track
Trust me, I know backgrounds are a pain (been trying to draw them since 2008 xD) but make no mistake, the only way to get better is do them over and over again. I don't know if this one is your first one, but hot damn, you've captured style! I was convinced it was from an unaired episode or something!

Lol~ I'm glad. Yeah, I finally got to a point in my life where I decided I'm at the level where I should be comfortable tackling backgrounds. It took me a while to get to this point, but I'm finally here. I hope to do more backgrounds from now on... though I may still use screenshots here and there. This isn't my first background. My first background was where Shade and Melody were fleeing that one owl after looking at the sun, which was one of my first drawings on here. I was really proud of that background.
I dread having to draw anything that has to do with buildings though. xD; Trees and landscapes...I'm more comfortable with.
