Yeah, apostrophes and possessives in English always cause people to make mistakes. Usually it's the non-native speakers that notice the errors. It happens to everyone in their native tongue. I have much more trouble with Spanish than I do with English.

The Pokemon Adventures comic seems to indicate that they're more like belys a Pokemon wears for a bit whilst the information in transferred to them via... something... radio waves perhaps?

Despite the fact that they're CDs in the game, I always picture the use of TMs as how it was done in the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga. In that, TMs were basically these cubes that you would open above the PokΓ©mon's head and sparkling light would float down on them. The PokΓ©mon would then absorb the light and learn the new move.
