Chungu es probablemente la hiena menos brillante de su clan. No es muy inteligente ni tiene buena memoria, y depende de las otras hienas para tomar decisiones. Es bastante sumiso respecto a Janja y al resto de su clan. Es mucho más confiado que Cheezi , pero no es muy valiente. No es agresivo, y solo ataca a otros cuando Janja se lo ordena. Tampoco parece notar el hecho de que a los otros animales no les agrada mucho, como Kion y su guardia o miembros de su clan como Nane y Moja .

Tiene una nariz ovalada y ancha. Tiene manchas oscuras en la parte superior e inferior de su hocico. Los mechones de su mandíbula crecen hacia atrás, hacia las orejas. Chungu is probably the least brilliant hyena of his clan. He is not very smart, has a bad memory, and depends on the other hyenas to make decisions. He is quite submissive towards Janja and the rest of his clan. He is much more confident than Cheezi , but he is not very brave. He is not aggressive, and only attacks others when Janja orders him to. He also doesn't seem to notice the fact that the other animals don't like him very much, like Kion and his Guard or members of his clan like Nane and Moja .

He has a broad, oval nose. He has dark spots on the top and bottom of its snout. The tufts of his jaw grow back towards the ears. His crest is dark and grows backwards. The first tufts of his crest (the ones that grow on the top of his head) grow upwards. His tail is quite short. His belly is voluminous. The left ear has two circular cuts at the top, and the right ear has a circular cut in the middle.
