Incredible moments you have captured here.  If only we all could have friends (ok so who cares if they are imaginary...) who light up our lives like this.  Steve reminds me of a puppy who is left alone all day and then jumps into your arms the second you walk into the door and licks your face (with a green and white tongue no less!)  The panel of the key in the lock is pivotal - after that key clicks (I can almost hear it...) everything changes and the color rushes in.

OMG I didn't think I would get so emotional reading a comic!  I think most of us have had moments in our life where we feel lonely and long for an imaginary friend to take the loneliness away.  This set of frames depicts so much within the character.  I absolutely LOVE how it switches to color once Mumbles gets home and really comes alive.  Life with Steve, whether imaginary or not, is what brings the color into life for Mumbles.

And we see in that last frame, the eyes are anything but dead.  They are quite alive.
