I've finally watched Avatar! (Thanks to~rod-badguy !
)I really liked it, surprisingly. XD The animation is great and the fantasy elements in the story remind me of Hayao Miyazaki.
This is Prince Zuko from a scene in the animation, I liked it cos it was so symbolic. The blue dragon represents Azula and the red dragon, Iroh. (He doesn't have his scar because it was a thing inside his mind. x.x)
I took hours to finish it. ;.; It worked? I uploaded it? o_o Yay, it worked! XD Um, please full-view if you can. :3

I've seen this before, and I have to say, I love the composition here. Centered things have a more formal, sedate feel, which works for an angsty fire lord shot. The twisting dragons kind of make a triangle. Zuko's clothes are lovely as well. He looks a little tired and angry. If I had one complaint, it'd be that he looks a touch too skinny. As a whole, though, this works so well!
Lately, I've been working on a story where Zuko was Ozai's favorite. He grew up accordingly and, with a little help (and violence), took the throne even earlier than he did in the show.
I'm hoping to re-work the first chapter (which covers that short summary in detail to kick things off) before posting it on fanfic. Your picture came immediately to mind when I tried to think of something appropriate to put as the cover that goes by the title. May I use it? ... Assuming I can figure out how to. I haven't actually posted anything since they started putting pictures by stories, but it can't be that hard.
If not, that's completely understandable, and I still enjoy looking at this.

This was a very chilling moment, one I thought was... creepy. As Azula is literally evil and cunning, she was a dragon in this figment of Zuko's fevered mind. Iroh, it would make sense. Dragons are the ultimate Firebenders so they actually know firebending.
Anyway, I love it so much. The fire, the scales on the dragon, how the light and shadows really look like there is fire in front of him. How Zuko looks young, even for a Firebender. The two dragons look exactly as they did in the show; amazing!

I found this particular scene in the series to be very symbolical and mysterious. I also find it interesting how both the dragon representing Iroh is red, same with Avatar Roku's dragon... they are both good people. Whereas Azula is represented by Blue and Sozin also had a blue dragon, both these characters are bad by nature. It is interesting I think because to eastern culture a red dragon symbolizes wealth and prosperity, yet to western culture red dragons were often revered as evil, dark creatures, perhaps spanning from Christianity at the time, Lucifer portrayed himself once as a red dragon. It is nice to see an animation that remained true to its culture, and was not overpowered completely by the western part of the world.
As for your art piece? Your scene has been captured well. After seeing the episode I was going to sketch something similar but i lack the right skills to do so. I like the feel of the picture, it is very balanced.

Great job, the scene did foreshadowing of the Crossroad episode where he had to make a choice between listening to Azula or his Uncle. I loved that.
