there are so many manipulative forces and factors in this world, it's hard for people to understand just how manipulated they are. much of what comprises the "order" of the world rests on people not realizing, while everyone's been taught to do it in some form or another. we're only animals, but this works against us, and there are those who wish to see it work against us.

The trouble with recognizing manipulation is that in doing so, it puts you in the position to do the same to others (whether for positive or negative, personal gain or to help them) so it comes with a sense of responsibility. Part of recognising it is in seeing within yourself your own capabilities, what is learnt, what is related to situations you've been through and what was there before the world got its hands on you.

She has been an amazing friend to me. Helped me realise that I had synaesthesia. I see music the same way you see movies and I 'hear' the world around me visually. Everyone has a melody when I meet them. I didn't know until last year that it wasn't something everyone did. Is why I would always 'show' people songs. They are my visual memories in audio form. Its also why I can't drive, because my eyes get confused with the information from my ears and I literally see two different things infront of me at the same time when I hear music.

Makes some things complicated (like trying to drive, which I don't do so its not a big deal really) but its been my reality my whole life so I never really knew any different. It is what it is and always has been, actually discovering that it had a name and that I was different was kind of a relief though and helped me to understand myself more. I'd be curious to hear you too tbh
