Well, as far as I know (it was my first visit to Boston) it was the St. Anthony's Day with a parade of the saint's statue through the streets of "Little Italy" There were tons of people, music, Italian food, the whole thing

Statue-type thing of, apparently St. Anthony, whose robes have many long strips of cloth for which people to pin their donations to? That's my guess.
