a birthday gift for my cousin's 18th birthday. the phantom's jacket got all shiney from the flash, so i went over it again in photoshop. this will never be back in my hands, so no hope for a scan

Impressive how you follow in the footsteps of the classical masters,and one of my favorite subjects from mythology,ah beauty,this is a true talent considering you are using traditional methods,more than one person could be fooled into thinking this was ages old from the time it was painted. Beautifully done. his hand is a little funny, but you've made it so the picture brings the eyes around. I only saw it because I make it a point to point things out (constructivley of course) so you know how to imporve your work. perhaps his hand needs to be a little sharper and not so soft, that would help with the depth. also, maybe she some texture of the cloth under his hand. Just a thought...
You really don't need to do anything to this piece, because like I said, it's beautifully done. You do wonders with faces and shading.

thanks for the crit! you're right, his hand is a big vague (though no more so than the cloth underneath). the picture was my cousin's choice, and sadly lacked any detail on the girl's robe, it was all washed out. ;_; i appreciate the comments!
