haha mannn I'm finally submitting this! I know I said I wasn't doing an azula pic, but this is a thankyou to for my 3 month subscription.
It's a lot different than the other two, I think. It's a lot bigger, the bg is all up near the portrait, and she's SMILINGGGG like an evil girl. but she is an evil little girl. so I made her smiling! and zuko is over there being a little mama's boy. which he is.

If Ursa didn't love Azula, she would be out-of-character.

We only ever saw memories from Zuko's point of view. There wasn't really enough to establish a character.

Ursa was worried about her behavior because she loved her. She cared about her family and forged will to make Ozai Fire Lord because she knew he wanted the throne. If she only cared about Zuko, she would kill Azulon without telling Ozai.

Ozai wouldn't become Fire Lord without Ursa. If she cared about Zuko only, Ozai wouldn't become Fire Lord.

She couldn't have not confronted Ozai... otherwise she would be murdering the Firelord on the word of a seven year with a tendency to lie.
The only thing that making Ozai Firelord did was give Ozai an incentive not to kill Zuko. If anything, it made Azula's situation worse.
I have a feeling we may not agree on this...

Ursa killed two birds with one stone. She spared Zuko's life and gave Ozai the throne.

Her intention was to save Zuko. She had no choice but to give Ozai the throne and I seriously doubt she was pleased about giving power to a man willing to murder his own son.
What does that have to do with Azula?

She could've killed Azulon without telling Ozai. There was no need to tell him. Ozai was willing to kill Zuko because Azulon ordered him. So, Ursa thought of a plan that he told Zuko in Day of Black Sun. Ozai was the winner in that time. He became Fire Lord, got rid of father, took the throne from his brother, able to manipulate his daughter and no one would able to protect his son. If she wasn't pleased about any, she shouldn't be pleased about causing Azula to go crazy and Zuko to get a scar because her mistake. She knew Ozai wanted power and knew he mistreated Zuko but she gave him power. Logically speaking, if she knew Ozai was a threat to Zuko , she would make him join his father.
Azula's issue with her mother because the way Ursa handled the situation. She didn't make sure that Azula knew she loved her.

If Ursa had not confronted Ozai about her plan to kill Azulon she would be murdering the most powerful man in the world, putting herself and her entire family in danger, on the word of a child with a tendency to lie. She had no choice but to confront Ozai and once she had done that, she had to do what he told her to. (Considering the guy is an abusive madman.)
From what I can see, there is no proof in the cartoon that Ursa cared about Azula. There is no proof that she didn't either. Until we get flash backs from the Legend of Korra or whatever, I'm sitting on the fence.
I definitely don't think we're going to agree on this. Shall we call it a day?

Either way, if she told Ozai or not , she expected the worst. She put herself in danger for the sake of her family by killing Azulon. Simply, she could've killed Azulon and told Iroh that Ozai did it. The reason she asked Ozai was what Azula told her was serious so she wanted to confirm it and knew Ozai wanted the throne. She only confronted Ozai when Zuko's life in danger because of him but didn't confronted him long time ago because he neglected him!If a child had a tendency to lie, the blame falls on the parents. Ozai was an abusive madman as you said and Ursa was unable to properly show Azula that she loved her as Zuko and stop Ozai from abusing his children. And yes he did abuse Azula psychologically.
Spoiling a child is as harmful as any blatant form of child abuse. In psychiatry, the content of hallucinations are no laughing matter. In some cases like Azula's, they can be critical and helpful. According to her hallucination, Ursa loved her. Azula couldn't get it because Ursa didn't show her love well.
Korra may have all the answers and bryke can change their opinions at any time, who knows? Anyway,It was nice talking to you.

I loved that episode
I always hated her because of her cunning and pernicous behavour but when I saw this episode I realized that really she felt....or at least acknowledge that she wasn't very good at doing anything other than manipulating and destroying lives.

But I feel really sorry for her 
Being raised without love will twist anyone's brains. And with such father even faster.
Just look at Zuko in season 1. He wasn't that far from being cruel as Azula. Ozai had influenced him greatly too. The only thing that stopped him from being evil was mother's love during childhood and Uncle's afterwards. Those 2 are the only reason why Zuko had become a better person.
While Azula was fully left on her own and fully to her father. Mother didn't try to come closer to her as well as Iroh. No one did, Ozai was twisting her brains all the time. And since she was prodigy from birth, he was twisting her from birth in comparison to Zuko what made her far more evil from the begining than Zuko was.

I love this series of yours so much. It makes them seem so much more human. Since I watched AtLA after it was broadcast (read: this May), these pictures were what I saw in my head during that scene. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have flashbacks, but I suppose it's for the best: this would always be canon in my mind anyhow.
