Well, centaurs could wear (horse)shoes. The question is whether they would want to. At least the traditional metal ones. I doubt they would have trouble with the modern rubber kind.
I wonder if there would be a situation that would require centaurs to actually wear pants...
Unlike some other centauroidic beings based on other animals, horse-based traditional centaurs likely wouldn't even be flexible enough to put them on or take them off without help (which kind of reminds me about a picture of a centaur I found a few years ago where the artist stated in the description that she wouldn't want to be a centaur, since they couldn't masturbate). Would that also mean they would need to include things like diapers, if worn for an extensive period of time (though males would still be able to urinate if they would have a hole for the penis sheath)? And they really wouldn't need much protection from the cold, if they grow a winter coat in the autumn...
I guess that unless it's something like a hazmat suit or a spacesuit (or they were at a costume party), there really wouldn't be a reason for a centaur to wear pants.

YES! I do think about those things.
Four lungs. How are they connected? Here's a weird thought... if the human lungs and horse lungs are connected through a single breathing tract does it retain the horse's larynx? If so, centaurs could whinny and neigh!
Could you imagine a chiropractor for centaurs? That's a loooong spine.
