A long-haired one, the dark of her uniform nearly blending into the background, betrayed by her pale face and white collared shirt. Vanessa thought she’d seen her before, maybe in one of her classes. She didn’t know the tiny thing’s name, but she hardly bothered to learn the names of lesser creatures. Seeing as her current toy was broken, maybe this girl could repay her transgressions. It hardly helped blaming a toy for breaking. But punishing an insect that didn’t know where it belonged…
