I love this photo. My wife (also Russian) loves to smell flowers and pose with them. I often wonder why but, after our trip to Thailand, I think I understand.. It is not often in the year that Moscow has flowers!
What is your opinion on it?

That's not necessarily true... Much like in any region that has big changes in climate, flowers are available at shops all year round (of course), but they start to grow as early as March and all through summer, sometimes to mid-fall..
In fact, the flowers in Russia that actually grow there are some of the most beautiful. For instance, peonies. Very hard to find in the US, or in NY, at least, but blossom beautifully in the summer in Russia.
