First let me say, this is jackdaw not a raven...not sure if they are the same thing? Though they certainly can be mistaken one for the other...
I never really thought about what they mean to "me" specifically....But now that you have asked.....I am highly attracted to this bird (in particular). I supposed I find them to look to be a sign of strength, and (without realizing before) certainly intelligence. And they strike me as loyal too, which is very outstanding as well.
Thanks for making me think about this.....normally I am a thinker; but the fact I never considered this until now is interesting to me. Thanks for posing the question!

As far as this art site, and people's attraction to ravens....I think it just has to do with the mysteriousness that surrounds the bird; that is to say, the aura of mystery it has; many artists souls are tuned just that way,... and so we can relate to them, or feel drawn to them because we recognize something 'familiar' in them...Well that's my thoughts about it anyway...I can't speak FOR the others, of course; but I don't think I'm so far off on my assessment....And, they (ravens) just make for great art.

To each their own. I personally like dolphins, doves, and diamonds. Don't you find it strange that I have been on deviant art for over a year and I have only three subscribers.
