I really love this firefly fairy! The soft green lights of the surrounding fireflies really give the picture a soft ethereal quality...I hope she can get back up and fly again...

Beautiful composition Linda. I love, how you have the human's boot next to the fairy, to show her size in relation. And, I like how you have made her glow and the fairy dust scattered around her. Nice posing of the fairy, as well.

I like the idea of "fairy dust"...
However, those are actually fireflies; she, one of them fallen. Although, looking upon it now, from your perspective, I can certainly see that it looks that it can be taken that way, too. (and I like the thought.
Yes, the man, obviously, saw her fall; and is definitely on the approach.. *holds a hopeful breath*

To be honest Linda. It did occur to me; that the glowing lights could be fire-flies. Especially those near the bush. I am surprised I didn't edge my bets and put both down in my comment.
I should have known; that they were fire-flies, with them been scattered around the fairy. When you watch films like 'Tinkerbell' or 'Peter Pan'; the fair dust sort of leaves a trail behind the fairy. So, if she had fallen; I would imagine that it would leave a kind of spiral, looping trail as she dropped, but in close proximity, instead of scattered. To give you an example. If you check out the fairy pictures which I made in my gallery; you'll see that I tried to imagine the fairy dust trailing from the fairy, in whatever direction they moved in. I got my inspiration from the films.
Either way. Whether it is fairy dust or fire-flies. It is still a very beautiful scene. I just hope the man who is approaching is a friend and not a foe. And, that they are coming to the fairy's rescue. I also like the story behind the picture.

Yes, I recall the fairies in your works, and how the swirling trails is indicative of a direction in which they had come. That was one of the things I realized (later, upon recalling that work) that I indeed was learning, (all kinds of things, without realizing I even was), simply from watching the artwork/s of all of you whom I watch.
So,... Your work stands out to us, your watchers, for all sorts of reasons, realized or not. And I thank you for that! Keep it up!

Maybe I was a bit rushed for time Linda; when I made my initial comment. Otherwise, I would have put both fairy dust and fire-flies down. I can see now, how they do look like fire-flies though. So, I think you certainly got your point across.
That is the beauty of art. Two people can look at the same picture and see totally separate things about it, from their own unique perspective. I have personally had other people perceive my scenes completely different before, to what I first imagined. But, I am fine with that. After all. That is how you learn and progress with your art.
