Description
Maybe later 's process. It's been a bit over a year since I worked on this image and I thought it would be fun to share the process behind it.
As some of you know this was part of my major's final workshop, the third illustration of an artbook I made for my project "Wildfire". This was one of the first approaches to the world itself and how the characters interacted, so I had absolutely no idea of what I was doing. Like with every illustration in the book I sketched it traditionally and then took the battle to the computer. It was a mess! But a mess that taught me a lot.
It's never too late to learn anything! I was 27 when I finally understood what perspective was all about. Yeah, I still struggle A LOT with it but I know what to pay attention to when planning a background. I wish I had chosen a different coloring style but I had 5 months to make the book, I was working way too slow and this took less time than anything that could have looked "better". There's so much you can do with an average of 3 hours of sleep per day. So, kids, take care of your bodies! Eat and sleep well.
