Description
"Katara..Zuko.. both of you are my mentors and also my best friends..please always be happy.”
——
Their poses here was inspired by the last scene of Hunchback of Notre Dame.. I’ve made the sketch of this picture since…last year? Hahaha. And I just had the mood to finished it today. Because I read a lot of Araeph meta today, and my zutara heart need to be filled again.
Hmm… you know, I really hope that the Guru Pathik plot point can be explored more and was much more relevant in the ATLA season 3. But we never got that, which I think was a really great lost. I also think Aang could be depicted as a more beautiful character in the entire series… if only he stayed in character as that funny, friendly, peaceful airbender monk. Not too needy on Katara like in the canon. If he did let go of Katara and opened the last chakra… I wonder how the rest of the show gonna changed? But I bet it is gonna be better…
Btw if I am not lazy..maybe I am gonna draw another Ending AU.. :’)

I love the coloring in this drawing. The orange atmosphere is beautiful ^^
And I agree with SilverBuller point, this would've been a better pay out than what we got on the show.

I agree, it would have been a much better evolution of Aang's character, but instead we got that stupid cop-out where he hits his back hard to unlock his chakra just for the "hero gets girl" trope. It was also a very bad message. Aang continuously lets his selfishness and possessiveness over Katara get in the way of his Avatar duties and the need to save the world (of which he's greatly at fault for since he ran away from his duties), and yet he still gets everything he wants with no sacrifice, as opposed to Zuko who sacrificed pretty much everything, even his whole family, only to get stuck with the dull Mai.

Haha I feel that we got robbed a lot in ATLA. So many unexplored potential...to bad we only got 3 books
ps: (+ comic book sequels and TLOK which I considered AU..hehe)
I am still waiting for real Book 4: Air for ATLA..even though I know the realization is would be super impossible..hehe (except if ATLA Netflix live action doing it right, but I doubt it)

Well, maybe we'll get lucky. Sometimes when they adapt/remake things they make changes as per what the fans want. Sometimes this includes changing certain characters' love interests, sometimes even their sexual preferences. With Zutara still the most popular ship all of ATLA and LoK, maybe in all of western animation, they might give us what we want. I'm not holding my breath for it, but there's a chance.
