Hmm... I think I have been working on this one for like a week or something. I don't know. Well, yea I worked hard on this one ^^ There's a lot of layers with watercolor. Man, my teacher once told me I would be good with oil painting cuz I use so much layers.... don't know if thats a good thing or bad thing.Ok, I did this one as a request for . He wanted something with Link and Dark Link, so I cooked up this thing. I've been wanting to draw this for a while actually....I just didn't get the motivation to do it >.<

I'd say that you are picking up some nice experiance, but next time watch out more for the flow of the picture, and how the compostition makes it work, because right now your composion looks 50/50, which is ussually a bad thing, but that's ok because you have the black and blue backgrounds leading your eye. The hats break that flow, so try to place eveything on the paper with a purpose, other than the fact that they should be there.

I see what you mean. I'm not very good with compositions... even now. but I was trying to go for a half and half thing.. and now I know it's bad. Darn it. D;

You should use oil paints then. I don't know if lots of layers work with watercolors... but then again, I'm not to fond of painting.... :/

It's been a looooong time since I've used oil paints. That was back in drawing and painting and I remember I sucked at using them. That was back then though... so I might be better with them now. I dunno... I think I'll stay with watercolors cuz I have a lot of them left over from ryman. lol free supplies yay!

yaaay! darkie's in it! I love how u blend the colors together. It looks very pretty. I can do any type of blending except for Watercolor blending.

And thank you. It took me a while to get goog at watercolor blending. You just have to practice and be brave when using any type of painting. I wonder if that makes sense? hehehe

This is pretty good. I really like the dynamic pose you present here, it looks almost like Dark Link is springing from the shadows to attack Link. The work on the clothes and the shields is also pretty good. I did notice that the hilts of the swords and the hands look a bit odd though. The look almost blurry, though it could be a trick of my somewhat lacking eyesight. The background is strange but I like it. I'm happy you like it. lol And as for the blu,r I added that afterwards in Mac Fireworks.. so it would make it looks like there's movement. I was never really good at drawing hands... hehehe or backgrounds. So yea... thanks for the comment.

Hmmm. Well, if you ever want to do a second version of this pic, drop me a line. I have an idea or two for backgrounds and some of them might be appealing. Still, I say that you'll get better with practice. And, I've got plenty more ideas if you want practice. Thanks again for doing this and I hope you'll drop by my page to read some fiction. Hmm... I don't think I'll make a second version of this. But just curious, what other ideas did you have in mind for the background?

Well, the most obvious one is the chamber in the Water Temple where you fight Dark Link. It's an expansive sky, a shallow, reflecting pool and a palm tree all with a surreal quality to it. Another idea is to draw it as a rematch, maybe in a chamber of Ganon's Castle. Perhaps you culd have Link travelling through a dark corridor and Dark Link 'erupting' from a heavily shadowed corner. Well, let me know if those ideas sound useful and talk to you later.
