You make up excuses so you don’t have to try,You hate yourself and you don’t think you’re worth having a real destiny, with me.
You think you are so independent,
Then why are you so dependant?
You can’t be alone and you have to have someone there to have fun.
You’re so smart and yet you can’t see beyond your own dependency
I was there for you through your own hell,
I was there for you to hang on to, to love and live for.
You can’t live for yourself and you can’t even live for me any more
You have to live for him, some stranger,
What has he done for you, made you feel accepted?
Accepted, Ha, loved?
He can’t even love you, he’s a stranger.
You can’t even define love through yourself.
Define yourself through that man and enjoy your “fun” and “acceptance”
Even though you are above the need for both
Enjoy life but hate yourself,
A hard thing to admit
I have seen the very soul within you,
It runs cold with hate, angst, hurt, and need; Need for me.
I have made my mistakes
And I’ll feel the pain that comes from them
But you, you have no future,
You’re here to do nothing.
I say that’s not right, without family, life is meaningless.
God himself said to us humans: “be fruitful and multiply”, where is this in your plan?
You forsake what God has defined for you for some horrible excuse of a life?
Go forth, be unfruitful, be unhappy, don’t multiply. Pfft.

I like this. It's very strong, in the literary sense, but the last stanza seems out of place. I don't know the story behind this, however, so it might make perfect sense to someone other than me. This is just one outsider's opinion. Nice.

What a mess!
Can't help but feeling that last paragraph... God didn't define life as women being there to have children and that being their destiny. God told adam and eve to be fruitful and multiply... don't go paraphrasing the bible. You have taken an idea and run wild with it. HE no where said that my destiny was to just marry some ass that thinks he's got the right to use and abuse somebodies love and trust and then she HAS TO FORGIVE HIM AND TAKE HIM BACK REGARDLESS...
It's bullcrap. God wants more for me than that. And I'll get more than that in the long run, because I'm not settling for the first guy that "wants" something he can't have.
Patience is a virtue, one you didn't have.
And if I've mistaken and this poem wasn't written about me, or with me in mind, I still think it's bull... Women have more of a destiny than marrying a guy.
My future is greater than you can dare to dream of.

What future is this that's so great, sure God might have a plan for you and you are smart enough to change the world but wouldn't you rather do so in a real stable relationship (i.e. marriage)? Not to me, to anyone. It just makes no sense that you can't live your life married just as much as if you weren't.

Adam and Eve represent the entire human race, if he told nearly perfect beings to do something, it would go MORE for those who are imperfect descendents of theirs. I stand by my interpretation of that verse because it makes perfectly logical reasoning to say that what is good for the first humans and is required and prescribed upon them from their creator would logically and reasonably be put upon the rest of their decendents.
I need to study.
