From back in the days were my character used to wear green, Lupe wasn't around and he tried to act cool.A couple of examples from that era:
I ultimately didn't used this picture because I didn't like the way it looked at 50x50 size. You could barely appreciate any of the details:
So I sticked with my chibi icon another year until I replaced it with this one in 2012
Needless to say that, over time, I had to accept the fact that I'm not cool at all, so he suffered all the consequences...

really that thing just kinda comes down to assertive serious levels of self-confidence and filtering out anything that goes into narm territory. It's a delicate balance, like writing a story with just the right amount of edge, too much and it's cringe-worthy, too little and no one cares.
Course if that's just not your style, then it's not your style. Some people run around spawning catchphrases while going on epic quests, some people make the artistically challenged like myself feel like we might actually get somewhere with enough practice.

I had no talent for this stuff. I remember particularly a classmate of mine that was way better as drawing stuff back in those days. It took me a while, but I guarantee he's not able to do what I do now

yeah, but your old 2005 doodles are probably where i'd be in another 10 years of dedicated practice and i really just don't have enough free time as it is. That is a personal problem but the fact that i don't really have time to stop and draw something ever is a pretty good indicator i'm not getting any better any time soon.
Actually even before that, i need to find time to actually post submissions again instead of leaving comments everywhere... and before that i need to sort out some thigns related to the account name change and go through an absurd backlog of notifications, and i still need a job. Life felt better when i was just waiting to get outta school so i could watch Megas XLR.

I used to draw one page before going to bed, it doesn't need to be something complex, you can just copy other drawings to practice.
The trick is to get your hand used to the movement and eventually you'll learn by observing other peoples work and trying to replicate what they did.
My first goal was to improve my hand skills, so I made all sorts of doodles
