Description
Paper Mario: TheΒ thousand-year door was my first Paper Mario game, and apparently the last oneΒ of its kind. I have very fond memories of it, and considering how much I loved and played this game, it's a shame that I haven't made more fan art of it.
I always wanted to do an artwork with Vivian. After being a bit disappointed with the Paper Mario Color Splash trailer, I thought It was a good time to make it.

The forth picture is very accurate to me seeing how much the series has fallen since Sticker Star.
I mean even for those who (I like it though) don't like Super at least it had most of the Paper Mario elements and an awesome story.Β

While it wasn't as bad as sticker star, the combat system and the lack of traditional partners makes me not want to play the game more than once. The writing was amusing, but once you've seen it once there's not point in going back :/Β
I also found out on twitter that they have made a compromise to use only Mario characters in the game, by request of Mr. Miyamoto. That's why the game feels so poor in characterization, they're not trying to design new characters anymore, neither bosses, just the typical Mario-Peach-Bowser premise.

I loved how Paper Mario expanded the world outside the Mushroom Kingdom. The designs were also unique an interesting, seeing all those races with small little details that made all the characters feel more like individuals. All Replaced with a bunch of Generic Toads...

He explicitly asked the team to use only Mario Characters. The writing is funny and kinda interesting, but since they're all toads they're not memorable at all.
Not even a Toad called "the professor" has glasses or anything that could make him look more like a professor, he's just a regular yellow toad.Β 90% percent of the characters in this game are just Toads, just look at some of the pictures I took on my playthrough

His philosophy of game design doesn't match RPG's at all. He usually tries to make them more accessible, but RPG's are supposed to be complex and rich in mechanics and story.

Exactly! Having little in the way of story may work just fine for platformers like the main series Mario games, but it's a death sentence for RPGs. They need rich, involved stories with deep, meaningful characters. What are they without those things?Β

Not sure if they will make it, but I know they will at least include a gamecube virtual console for the Nintendo Switch. Technology is already there and we'll probably get a portable gamecube library

I usually see this approach with review channels, because the content is condensed in one video about a game or a series of games, and the fan art is usually related to the channel or Youtuber.
Doing it in a Let's play channel would require to compile a bunch of artworks per video, and the ideal scenario would be to include inside jokes or moments that relate to the playthough itself. Are you sure you'll be able to get enough artwork for the format you have?

I was thinking it being more open where you can make anything as long as it's related to the channel itself. and i can hold pictures for certain videos like if somebody makes a scary drawing i can it it in horror games like Sophie's Curse. or if they draw me in a mario costume i can put it in a nintendo game.Β
I guess what i'm trying to say is as long as it's related to me as a youtuber they can be as creative as they want. I want them to be able to make whatever they want with no criteria other than it be related to me as a youtuber. It doesn't have to be related to a specific video or genre of games for me to add it to the video.Β

I could do a single picture during the ending sequences i use at the end of every video, or make it into a slide show during the end sequence to showcase more artists' works in a single video. probably 3-4 pictures at a time.
I think that as a creator you should have fun creating something so I want them to decide what to make. if i say something funny in a video and they really like it and want to draw a picture referencing that, that would be cool.
