I'm afraid I don't understand why they dislike each other. As a brony, I've seen aspects of the sun and moon work together to achieve harmony; why are these two up in a tizzy about different hours of the day?

Yeah, I don't know a lot about Diana and Leona. I'll have to read more about their entire history sometime to get a better understanding of the differences between them and the Princesses of the Sun and Moon.

Uh. Well, for starters, Diana was of the Solari (sun) tribe and Leona was basically adopted into it after she was chosen by the sun.
Diana was one of those students who asked to many questions, and she never really belonged. She stumbled on a forgotten civilization who worshiped the moon, The Lunari, and discovered the Solari ruthlessly killed off these people to have Mt. Targon for themselves. Diana found the ruins/temple of the Lunari and brought Lunari armor weaponry to the Solari elders (who continuously denied the Lunari's existence) and they tried to execute her for it and branded Diana with the symbol of the moon on her forehead in front of the moon itself. Well the moon soaked it's rays into that wound and Diana became the chosen of the moon and this new power helped her kill all of the elders and Leona see's it as complete man slaughter, thus, both want to end the other.Β
