Wow it's been years since I've drawn Ezra.:"D I doubt most of you even know of her existence.For those of you who dont know, this is Ezra, my Sheikah OC I made 3 years ago.
Her design is still undergoing changes. XDI was randomly inspired to draw this babe.
She leads a group that hunts down my other Sheikah OC, Zach.
Mhm....Well I should go to bed.

Lookin' pretty dang good.
Technical-wise, no negatives to raise. The sketchiness/scratchiness in this case adds to the grit, to the impact of the character and the piece. Speaking of grit and impact, you certainly didn't neglect scratches, nicks, breaks, scars, dents, bloodstains, etc. Again, adds to the power of the piece.
Speaking of battle damage--- subtle note, but let's count that as a "one point up and one point down" for you--- she's wearing torso armour, breastplate, right? Many fantasy artists often forget to make said piece serve as armour, but the nicks and dents there clearly show that it's well-used. The down-note there is the chest-exposing design. Correct me if I'm wrong? I checked the colour, matches her skin complexion. Enemy blow coming in, glances off of the armour and SPLURTCH right into the opening across the upper chest. Same could be said of the uncovered lower abdomen and hips. (Though, might I compliment yet again your good portrayal of anatomy.)Β
Couple more notes regarding stuff in that area: She's got a shirt under the armour! GOOD. And that her bosom is proportional to her body and not fetishistically huge or tiny, good.
Right, continuing--- And that her gear is well-used implies that the character is well-travelled, and a good damned warrior.Β
Except... Okay, question on the frigging weapon. Is it a one-handed weapon? Or two-handed and the rest of the haft is merely hidden, covered by the character's back from this viewing angle? Gotta say, the thickness of the blade is palpable. The hints of blood and rust, as well as the reflections make it that much more believable.Β
One gripe here, though, is about the grip. Is she deliberately slashing with the blunt edge? (Or did she sharpen BOTH edges of the blade?) My suggestion for better fighting with such a weapon is to use the pointy end (ha-ha). Right, as in, lead by stab-hacking with the point. If it hits the vitals, pull back sharply, thereby ripping and tearing. If it's parried to the side, flick the point back up, stab-hack upwards, aiming for the gut or under the chin. If it's blocked, kick at the groin or kick at the feet to weaken/distract, then disengage from the bind and stab-hack again and again. If it makes contact with the limbs, slash and slice, then attack again. If DEFENDING against an attacker, use it to parry, then get in under the guard and slice or stab-hack from close-in. Also, be aware of the advantages a weapon like that would give her in grappling, in disarming and in tripping up opponents. Hook their feet or hook their clothes and SPLAT, advantage.
Also! The TYPE of weapon (or any other tool or piece of gear that a character is portrayed as using) plays a role in defining that character. WHY a scythe? Well. Sickle, if it's one-handed. Was she originally a farmer? Or was somebody significant in her life a farmer? What made her take up the life of a warrior, an adventurer?Β
The faded and dirty parchment background with the Β unintellgible-but-still-recognizable-and-elegant writing, THAT is a small-but-significant touch to this piece. Adds a sense of history... and a sense of mystery. Why was this character travelling and fighting all this while? What or who is she looking for? Did she lose something or somebody important?Β

This is an old OC that's currently on the shelf.
The weapon was entirely random, this was a doodle I had drawn to test a new brush on my art program.Β
This character is a Sheikah, basically a ninja-like race in the Legend of Zelda. Her clothes are very light weight, because she has to be mobile and agile. She's hunting a former sheikah, that is why she travels.
She's a relatively old character, old design, I haven't revamped or touched her since literally this image.xD;;;
Though your pointers are good and effective criticism, and I thank you for it, it's a tiny bit....awkward(?) because it's on something so old.xD Does that make sense?

I do admit that I forgot exactly how I got to your "Tear", but I suppose 'twas just by cruising from link to link... and THIS, though you say it's an old piece... was still GOOD enough to catch my eye, even JUST from its mere thumbnail.Β

It has, however, I had some difficulties when I bought my new laptop. My version of SAI wouldn't redownload properly, and when I finally managed it to work, many of my brushes were wiped.
So I lost this messy texture brush I used in this piece, it's quite upsetting.
The boy she hunts is a hybrid of a race that's an historical enemy to the Sheikah, (in my headcanon) so his existence is an embarrassment to their tribe.
Thus, she's supposed to capture him and keep him locked up with his traitorous mother who fell in love with such a sickening race.:/
