Sometimes less is more - in this case the simplicity brings out the attention on the purple background and the wonderful colours on the lighthouse.
The birds also add some to the picture.
I'm not sure of the crop - it is cropped nicely to enhance the rule of thirds but as a result it feels a little too square.
In short, well done!
