Yes, this room was filled with the ghosts of a busy past, once filled with work, with life, with stories. Now this room does not excist anymore, the whole place has been demolished, and this makes me even more fond of this picture...

I can say the same for myself. They evoke emotion and seem to hold a very hearfelt cry... So interesting that it even comes through in photo's!

true - and untold tales of old days, silent whispers from people no longer there to fill the rooms with life.

It just strikes me how the spiritual permiates the physical deeper than we ever count in this day and age where at least here in Britain there are still overtones of Modernism dictating that what you see and can touch is what you get. The ancients had it so much more right when they saw the spiritual level as one and the same as the physical - inseperable... Anyhow i've waffled enough!

I agree with you - and often don't we enter a room or a place instantly breathing in its atmosphere, friendly or not? life has got more than two dimensions

light from the change of time

I have similar windows
light is so important

love old buildings
in ancient warehouse districts of cities

here on the edge of the port
facing west
I see the geese fly over my studio
heading to the lake at 7am
then back again at dusk
everyday
like their life depended on it
like a tradition
to look out the window
and blink

my pleasure on the comment
you are a damn good photographer

best from the edge of oblivion's wake

Lost in the Air

Sometimes life watches us
from that very point
of what we let be seen
from what we are willing to let go

it smiles at us,
it watches over us
it touches us
unbuttons us
but soon stops, grimaces, wonders
starring at us closely
full of understanding
full of questions

Its smooth breath that it embraces
in it's full strength
it dances
along the arc
as life recalls
that someone from far away
the future holds the truth
the doses of reality
full tender images of moments
are explained at the crossing
at the gate
if you get ever get it
times capsules finally unravelled

What will come of the day
without the solitude one seeks
it makes one contemplate
clear eyes memory traverses
the ages of ones life
always at a distance,
breathes in ones ear
of secrets and contemplations
the wind does not reach
it listens to everything,
that was left out in the cold
in the way of the soul,
nothing that says to me
that it will ever be back again
unless time sets your mind
on the journey
you seem to never understand
or too scared to feel
everything of what was
has been lost in the air

Thanks - yes, I do have a B&W-version of it too - just don't want to submit too many "doubles", and some of the textures go missing in that version.

It's ridiculously near to where I work - I've even been to a concert there some years ago in one of the big abandoned halls - but the thought of going there on a photohunt just occurred to me now...
The interior of one of the older houses there was a thrill...

That's great - fine light and shadows. Have to appreciate a building where giant blocks of wood occupy a place of prominence.
