Description
Above the horizon rises the galactic center, the rotational center of the Milky Way. It contains the next known supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A *, which is 26,500 light-years from Earth. However, the galactic center itself can not be observed in visible light, as this is mitigated by dark dust clouds of interstellar matter on its way to Earth. On the right you can see the Antares region, from which dark clouds of dust point unpredictably towards the center of our galaxy. The shot is composed of two shots in which once the sky and the landscape were exposed differently.Related content

Cosmic and Earthly grandeur, without anything alive in the frame. Humbling.

absolutely stunning. I love the way you centered the Milky Way over the glacier, the colors of the galaxy are as good as any astronomer could do.Β
