i actually really like the background on this. it's simplistic enough to not draw away from the character but so much better than some colour splash or gradient, etc. my only crit would be to have made the water more obvious by emphasizing the water line- something very difficult when looking at it straight on, of course, but could be done by making little waves, splashes, the small wake around his shoulders and behind him... also something neat would have been to get some underwater stock from somewhere to get that light reflection from the bottom of a pool or something and apply if over the bottom of the bg, which would be an immediate indiciation that it's underwater. hope that helps!

haha foggy effects are neat when done really well! at any rate i'm sure you'll improve the more you draw so eventually you're going to be a pro at water right? lol you're welcome.

I like this picture alot, but a little help in the future, make the water a little more, not so see through, if you know what I mean. Or else it is beautiful!
