THIS HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY HALF-FINISHED PILE FOR LIKE SIX MONTHS AND ITS FINALLY FINISHED AHHHHHI have this headcanon that, to alleviate boredom at an awful ball one night during the Sneer, Vetinari and Margolotta got hold of a bottle of Scumble and had a challenge where they had to spike each others' drinks without the other noticing. They were both successful, and woke up the next morning in bed, fully dressed in each others' clothes, with the only clue to what happened being this photo that they found in Margolotta's bag. Surviving an evening of Scumble-related activities also explains how he was able to cope with so much drink and barely react in Unseen Academcials
(Vetinari's just there like OH GODS SO DRUNK and Margolotta's noticed the cameraman and is on the verge of realising that its going to reduce her to a pile of ashes...)

You've never heard of them? There about about a hundred billion youtube-to-mp3 converters but its quite difficult to find youtube-to-wmv converters now that you don't have to download :/ and I gave up on windows movie maker years ago but I refuse to buy software, so I downloaded a program called "Videopad" and its been pretty awesome

Speaking of which its totally my Disclock headcanon that it was Vetinari who first said the whole "sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side/all lives end, all hearts are broken, caring is not an advantage" stuff and the boys just picked up on it.

Mycroft especially becuase he could see how missing the other tore them both up inside and there was nothing they could do about it. so yeah i figure alot of his coldness is from him internalizing alot of the emotional problems he saw between his parents as he was growing up, the problem being that he didnt see any of the other side of the equation which made both margo and havvie decide the pain was worth it.

And because Mycroft pretty much raised Sherlock, he picked it up too. Only because most of it was taught rather than witnessed first hand, being sentimental and creating attachments comes rather easier than to Mycroft. Whose only attachment is his little brother.
Headcanon for THAT is that one day Mycroft came downstairs for breakfast and found father still at home. Through this and the fact that father was reading the same line of the newspaper over and over again, he deduced that mummy had gone into labour. The two spent the whole day together in the living room, reading and talking, Havvie being constantly vaguely distracted and Mycroft aware of this and trying to stop him worrying. And then the doctor comes in with the baby wrapped up and gives him to Havvie, and Mycroft climbs into the armchair next to him. And Havvie - slightly bemused and trying very very hard not to be emotional - explains to Mycroft that he and mummy probably won't be around much to help look after his baby brother and this makes them very sad. But they can cope with it because they know that he has his big brother there. "Its your job, Mycroft - no, your duty - as a big brother to always look out for Sherlock. He's going to be annoying and loud and frustrating and you might not like him very much at all, but at the end of the day he is your little brother and that is what matters. Can you promise that for me?"

And she just smiles and gently takes the cornflakes away, getting a bottle instead. And she pulls Mycroft into her lap, then picks up Sherlock and puts him in his lap, helping Mycroft hold the baby and showing him how to hold the bottle so that Sherlock will take it and gently encouraging the previously disenheartened big brother by telling him how well he's doing.
