Overall, you did very good job. If you didn't say it, I guess I wouldn't have noticed what I'm about to point out. I wouldn't have guessed the photo was edited in the way it is. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="390" title="

But when looking closer, to little things appear. First, the leg and paw on the right of the photo have their edges a little bit faded. It's certainly due to the opacity you chose when adding the black background. It seems like they're "erased" and it feels just a little bit awkward. Secondly, the ear on the left of the picture looks a bit too bright, strangely illuminated whic h shouldn't be possible if you take the lighting into account. This part of the photo is dark and I think the ear shouldn't pop up that much. If you look at your first photo, only the edges of the ear are touched by the light source.
Finally, it's just a matter of preference but I really like the warm orange/golden tones of your first photo that, unfortunately, aren't that striking in this one. This version seems to be slightly paler, a touch less vibrant, if you know what I mean.
Now, I really love how you chose to crop and use a black background. It enhances perfectly your subject.
Hope it may have helped a little bit. Keep up your great work!

Cute jag.
Gonna be visiting Prague in a few months -- is this guy still there?

Perfect! The distance from his elbow to the edge is the same (as far as the glancing eye can tell) as the leg to the edge, so all around it looks even. I would say that the leg to the edge should be compared to the tree trunk extending out at the bottom instead of compared to his elbow, but I would rather see the tree trunk extend longer to the bottom anyway because I can "feel" that the tree trunk is the same on the other side, the side his leg is on, but it's dark so I can't. It "feels" right.
Thank you for posting your beautiful photograph!

Much more dramatic. The eyes are much more visible, and the crop is better too.
