White tigers are not a different species of tiger, just a different color. If both parents had the white (leucism) gene, they can produce white cubs. White is recessive to orange, so if an orange tiger that carries the white gene breeds with a white tiger, approximately half of the resulting cubs will be orange and half white. If two orange tigers that both carry the white gene recessively breed, then approximately one-fourth of the cubs will be white, and 3/4's orange.

Lets not forget all white tigers in captivity are severely inbred and carry health problems.
