Description
Newest favorite movies at the top. Top to bottom: Barnabas Collins (Dark Shadows, 2012), Tonto (The Lone Ranger, 2013), Edward Scissorhands (Edward Scissorhands, 1990), Big Bad Wolf (Into The Woods, 2014), Victor Van Dort (Corpse Bride, 2005), Willy Wonka (Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, 2005), Mad Hatter/Tarrant Hightopp (Alice In Wonderland, 2010), Gellert Grindelwald (Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, 2016 and Crimes Of Grindelwald, 2018), Rango (Rango, 2011) and Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates Of The Caribbean, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2017).My mom was curious about Dark Shadows and so was I. Gotta admit, the movie is really funny! Who doesn't love watching a vampire from the 1700s in 1972? The modern world is rather confusing to Barnabas, it seems. And the fact that Angelique Bouchard was obsessed with him? I'm glad Barnabas fell in love with Josette/Victoria. Probably the second movie where Johnny Depp's character is in love with a character named Victoria, the first being Corpse Bride.
Had some curiosity for The Lone Ranger since I might recall seeing the classic version in black and white. After trying a clip or two, I thought "why not?". It's also funny when Tonto said that Kemosabe means "wrong brother". Hahahaha! Lol! 😆 😆😆🤣 Especially at the end of the movie when John Reid says; "Hi-yo, Silver! Away!" And Tonto responds with "Don't ever do that again" Teehee! Then John puts his hat back on and says sorry. Guess this movie is another for Johnny Depp involving cannibalism such as Butch Cavendish in this movie. Then there's Sweeney Todd and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. You know, the part where Captain Jack escapes that cannibal tribe. Plus Jack Sparrow and Tonto might look similar in appearance.
Edward Scissorhands is a lovely, bittersweet film that's as old as one of my sisters. Nothing personal, just saying. I think Edward and I have a few things in common such as creativity, shyness and sounding quite when speaking. Sometimes people ask me to speak up,but I'm pretty bashful. Though Edward and I each have a different set of hands, we each have our own special qualities and forms of creativity and both wish to be loved. Amazing to see that Vincent Price was in this movie too. I've known him for Professor Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective and Egghead in the 60s Batman TV series. I even watched Tim Burton's 1982 short Vincent which is narrated by Vincent Price himself.
Saw Johnny Depp's portrayal of the Big Bad Wolf in Into The Woods. Very interesting. I'm aware of how my sisters said it's a train wreck, but I'll watch the whole flick just to understand.
Corpse Bride is a hauntingly beautiful classic. I was only born a year before the film was released, but now I saw it several years later, just at the end of 2021. Same for Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. Did you know that Corpse Bride is inspired by a folktale? Yep, based on an old tale set in Russia, about a young bridegroom who places a ring on a corpse's finger while reciting his vows. Suddenly, the cadaver leaps up and says "My husband!" Horrified, the man brings his would-be spouse to a local rabbi, who annuls their marriage by declaring that the dead cannot lay claim to the living. With a piercing shriek, the corpse falls apart into a pile of disjointed bones, never to rise again. By the way, I learned that Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and others worked on Corpse Bride and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory simultaneously. Wow!
Seems I enjoy Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's take on Charlie And The Chocolate Factory more than the original 1971 film with Gene Wilder. No offense. The 2005 Riley is closer to the book by Roald Dahl. His wife Felicity was one of the executives, you know. And have you ever noticed that Willy's eyes are colored purple? Maybe next time you watch, you may have pause at just the right time.
I love Alice In Wonderland. Me and my friend AjaniTheQueen really enjoy the Mad Hatter. She told me. I'm glad to have such a wonderful friend who loves Doctor Who, Tim Burton and The Lion King franchise. ❤ 🦁 Anyway, both versions from Disney are my favorites. Sometimes we like to do something funny, or have a little walk on the dark side. Even in fanfiction, I try my best to be careful on the amount of macabre. You know what they say, we're ALL mad here. And to say it like Tarrant Hightopp, DOWN WITH AMBER HEARD!!!!
Johnny Depp's Gellert Grindelwald seems to EVERYONE'S favorite version of the character. I saw Secrets Of Dumbledore earlier this summer. Grindelwald does look different since he was played by Mads Mikkelsen. I take not everybody liked the change.
Can't believe I forgot about watching Rango when I was little. Guess Johnny might've accidentally obliviated me while my back was turned. Just kidding! He's usually a nice guy and he is.
Ah, yes. The first time I saw him. As the legendary pirate Captain Jack Sparrow! 🎵 Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me! 🎵 Can't believe Disney had to fire him a while ago. Seriously, people, what in the name of insanity is wrong with you?! Fans love him! I refuse to believe a single word from Amber Heard. Rather than listening to her, I'd dive off a cliff and into the sea!
