I have seen tons of figurines of the Wolf's Rain characters, and the eyes are usually crooked, or there is some other imperfection. But, this one looks flawless! It's beautiful. And Toboe makes it that much better.
It's a shame that the company didn't make figurines.

It's made from a cheap plastic dog.
I've used cutters and scissors to cut all the parts that where not like Toboe.
Then, I've put some sort of clay and fimo on it to mold the Toboe look.
And then, acrylic and varnish

oh, yeh..something inside me said "nahh they didn't build from the ground up"
what cheap plastic dog did you use?

I have no idea, it has no reference on it, but it was looking cheap and badly paint :d
It was a german sherped dog with a collar on it.
I found it on a "braderie" (Don't know if there is an english equivalent for word "braderie", it's a place where people sell all the things they don't use anymore.)

thrift store? second hand shop? consigment shop? yard sale?
yeh i had asked people about it and they thought it was a sculpty creation but it looked to smooth for any scuplty figure i've seen.
as for your myster dog i never saw one. maybe i can find one on ebay? I'm trying to figure out how to make my own plastic animals but can't finalize my plasticine mockups very well.

Nah, a "braderie" is not a store. It's a sort of special event that takes place like 2 times a year. Lot's of the cify of France have one of it. I'm not sure it's exists where you are
I don't know if the dog could be found on E-bay, I've never seen another one like him.

i coudn't tell you. its not a 'flea market' is it? so the dog had no marks on it anywhere? a 'made in'?
maybe if you learn how to use smooth on materials you can dupilcate this and make new figures

lionne-de-matrix In reply to Kuwaizair [2007-12-18 23:26:49 +0000 UTC]
It must be a sort of 'flea market', but the sellers are not professionnal, each of us can be one if he wanted. And they sell all the things they have and don't want any more : Lots of toys, books, clothes....
There is no 'made in' or anything on the dog.

maybe, but flea markets are usualy weekly affairs, where people can sell junk or things they didn't make, like a mini shop. some people don't like them as some people who live for fleamarkets in some areas don't strike them as the kind of folk you want to be with.
I'd say your dog you used was a plastic dog from a nativity set but its legs aren't in the right pose, its curly haired and standing in the classic German shepard pose.

Nativity set ????? It's means very small figures ?
The dog is quite big, it has the size of a Barbie dog.

oh wow now i don't know. yeh i have a small plastic dog that goes with the christmas nativity scene. apparenty dogs and wolves are now included. there is a wolf costume on e-bay for a child that says its great for the Jesus nativity thingy.
