Don't know if you'll see this, being posted so late and all.
If you wanted to do something like this, and have a basic understanding of a 3d rendering program, this effect is very easy.
Start with a nice flat block, duplicate it a few times, moving it up a bit each time.
Do this again, perhaps with a thick, long block, move this set to a new position.
Do these 2 steps 2 or 3 more times.
Select all your objects, duplicate it all, and simply rotate it the copy's 90 degree's in any angle, and maybe reposition some sets.
Put a highly reflective material on half of your blocks, and a glassy, transparent one on the rest.

I plan to make a full tutorial for this type of thing eventually, but I hope these tips are of some use to you!

How in the hell is this my most popular deviation?  Lol..  I do think it's a great concept, but I fucked up the execution in half a dozen ways.  I wasn't even sure I wanted to submit this one..

Haha yeah, I sure have.  When I was last active here; the wirey, explosive, organic renders, with the intense airbrushing were the most popular thing ever.  Now I've come back a few years later, and as hard as I look, I can't really find anybody doing that kind of stuff seriously anymore

As to my "Data Center", and your image.  It does have it's flaws, but it is a nice job all the same.  My own version has a 20 point list of fatal errors I could right up if I had to.  My first shot at that, I always liked those types and want to do more.  I am slowly building up a much superior version of this one.  These types of images were all the rage for a time as well, so I have plenty of idea's, haha.  I suppose the trick is to really spend the time in the 3d editor, carefully and meticulously crafting every detail.  So once it gets to photo shop, it only needs minimal work.  I think, anyways.

Anywho, It's good talking with you, keep up the good work!

Thanks!  If you like this, keep an eye out, I'm working on a much more elaborate, detailed wallpaper like this.  It might be a couple weeks yet though, taking my time with it haha!

Ah I know.  Normally I do them at 1600X1200.  However, this one was rather jagged when finished, so I sized it down to try and smooth it out a little.
